Windows Server Evaluation Edition Upgrade to full Edition

If your server is running Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022/2025 evaluation version of Windows Server Standard or Datacenter edition, you can upgrade or convert it to an available retail Standard or Datacenter version. Run the following commands in an elevated command prompt or PowerShell.

1, Determine the current edition name:

DISM /online /Get-CurrentEdition

2, Check which editions can be converted to:

DISM /online /Get-TargetEditions

3, Convert/Upgrade to Standard version:

DISM /online /Set-Edition:ServerStandard /ProductKey:xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

4, Convert/Upgrade to DataCenter version:

DISM /online /Set-Edition:ServerDatacenter /ProductKey:xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

5, Convert/Upgrade to Essentials version:

DISM /online /Set-Edition:ServerEssentials /ProductKey:xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

Please replace the xxxxx with your own Windows Server product key. if you do not have the product key, you can use the Generic Windows Server keys.
