How to remove “Learn About This Picture” Icon from Windows 11 Desktop

Microsoft recently released the KB5034848 update for Windows 11. After users installed it, they found that there was an additional “Learn This Picture” icon on the home screen to help users understand the background information of the current wallpaper.

What is “Learn About This Picture” Icon on Windows 11 Desktop?

“Learn About This Picture” icon is added automatically on Windows 11 Desktop if you enable “Windows Spotlight” wallpaper feature in your device. Newer versions of Windows 11 come with a special feature called “Windows Spotlight Collection”. This feature allows users to apply random nature wallpapers on their Desktop which are selected and provided by Microsoft.

The new icon looks like a little camera and is called Learn about this Images. Basically, if you see a really cool Spotlight background image and want to know more about it—like where it was taken, or what it describes—you click on the camera icon.

However, not all users like this icon, so you can delete the icon by modifying the registry according to the steps below this article. Note that before modifying the registry, please make a backup of the relevant data.

Microsoft has not provided any way to disable or remove the “Learn about this picture” icon from Windows 11 Desktop which might annoy the users who like a clean Desktop.
