Bing Chat chatbot has been upgraded to use the latest OpenAI GPT-4 technology

On March 15th, OpenAI released a new GPT-4 large-scale language model today, and then Microsoft officially announced that Bing Chat had previously been upgraded to use OpenAI's GPT-4 technology.

Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president and consumer chief marketing officer at Microsoft, confirmed that the Bing Chat chatbot AI is already running on GPT-4, which is based on the latest version of GPT-4 and developed by OpenAI. A post on Microsoft's Bing blog site further corroborates the news.

Microsoft says that if users have used the new Bing preview at any time in the past five weeks, users have already experienced an early version of this powerful model. Bing will benefit from these improvements as OpenAI updates to GPT-4 and beyond ( Over 100 million bing active users daily). In addition to updates based on community feedback, users also have the most comprehensive Copilot functionality available.

If users want to experience GPT-4, please sign up for the new Bing preview. Once in, you'll be able to search, answer, chat, and create on Bing.com using the new Bing.

Previously, Microsoft had only said that Bing Chat used its own Prometheus model and "new next-generation OpenAI large-scale language models."

Microsoft now says Bing Chat's GPT-4 has been "customized for search." There is no other information yet, including when Microsoft will add the GPT-4 image-to-text combination feature that OpenAI announced today.
