How to Convert Server 2022 Evaluation version to a Retail Standard/ Datacenter version

Microsoft provide Free server 2022 iso Download link on https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-server-2022, but it is evaluation version and can be used only for 180 Days , after that you cant use it anymore , It confused so many customers , if you want a retail version , do you need to do a fresh installation and lost all your files and data ? the answer is no , you can simply convert the evaluation version to retail standard or datacenter version , here is the instruction how to do it :

Before you do the conversion , 

Please be sure that your server is running Up to Date on the current version, so it is better to complete all update before the conversion!!!

Then Type following command on command prompt or PowerShell/Windows Terminal to upgrade your Windows Server 2022 Standard or Datacenter evaluation version to Retail version.

Upgrade from Evaluation version to Standard version:

DISM /Online /Set-Edition:ServerStandard /ProductKey:xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx /AcceptEula

Upgrade from Evaluation version to datacenter version:

DISM /Online /Set-Edition:ServerDatacenter /ProductKey:xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx /AcceptEula

and you can convert the evaluation version to Standard or Datacenter version !

and You can only change from Standard edition to Datacenter edition when upgrading. Changing from Datacenter edition to Standard edition is not supported.
